Desktop:
If you do not want the text colour selected you will need to click to highlight your text so a box appears around it. You will then need to click "Fill" in the top left hand corner of the designer.
Once this is selected you will be able to see the colour choices we have for our fonts. The tick in the box is the current colour selected as your font colour. Let's say that we don't want the current colour - just click the font colour you wish to change to:
Once you have selected a new colour, you should be able to see that the tick is now in the box of the colour you have selected and your font has changed colour.
You can now click off the colour panel and your text should now be the colour you want
Mobile:

Once this is selected you will be able to see the colour choices we have for our fonts. The tick in the box is the current colour selected as your font colour. We don't want this - so click the font colour you wish to change this to:
Once you have selected this you should be able to see that the tick is now in the box of the colour you have selected and your font has changed colour.
You can now click the eyedropper tool again to close this panel and your text should now be the colour you want
